TEACHING TEAM + WHAT
Our team will host artist + educator Arlene Bandes!
She is bringing amazing materials and will lead us in making individual prints and a larger collaborative spring – all with a candle motif that we will each make!
Our team also includes Christina Bechstein and sometimes other members of our teaching team – like lead teacher Sally Caruso, Emilia Dahlin and others. Our creative team includes Art teachers and classroom teachers very skilled in many pedagogies and with years of teaching experience in private and public schools and also college level. We see it as an honor to support the individual voice and creativity of your children!
WHERE At the studio! – Love Lab Studio @ 26 Brackett Street, Portland Maine, adjacent to a beautiful city park and nearby playground. We are located in a mixed residential and commercial area, and usually, there is ample parking available.
PLEASE BRING Please have children wear a mask, bring an extra one, plus bring a water bottle, a little sweater, and a cozy pair of slippers if you have them (socks are OK too) to wear in our studio during the fall and winter. Prior to starting class, each student must sign and return our student info sheet packet (includes media form, release form, and other important info).
HEALTHY POLICY Please come healthy and help us keep our community healthy!
Our studio is following strict guidelines for Covid safety and health of all children and the community and will continue to follow the CDC updates and guidelines. For current studio programming, given the age of our children, all children and adults will be masked in and outside of the studio (except when distanced for lunch and snack and can take a break distanced outside when doing art if applicable). If something happens Covid related and we can’t meet in person at the studio, we will take the studio virtual for your children and make art kits until we are able to meet in person again. If children are unable to attend due to illness, we will package into an art kit our projects for them to do at home. The studio has ceiling fans, high-quality HEPA filters, and windows to keep the air moving. We sanitize and clean all surfaces daily and as we go. We feel with care and community partnership we can all strive to keep our community healthy.
