Art theme: Spring is here! Our focus and projects will revolve around: planting seeds, making a little “seed/spring” book, decorating a spring art bag, printmaking collagraph and more. We will again do a warm up project, plus 3 stations and a collaborative project. Lots of choice, lots of engagement, lots of fun!

WHERE At the studio!  – Love Lab Studio @ 26 Brackett Street, Portland Maine, Portland West End, next to the cutie cafe “Smalls”.

ALSO Prior to starting class, each parent/guardian must sign our online forms that will arrive in your welcome email! Please bring a water bottle, a little sweater, and a cozy pair of slippers if you like (socks are OK too and what we wear) in our studio (we also keep it pretty warm). For these 1/2 day workshops – you bring a snack!! (no nuts please) It is good to wear something that its OK to get dirty as you never know in an art studio! In our welcome email you recieve before the workshop (including media form, release form, and other important info), we will send more details.

WHAT TO EXPECT You will arrive into the bright studio usually with nice music playing, take off your shoes, find your cubby/hooks to store your things (we make you a cute name tag to have your own), wash your hands at our fun art sink – and we have a project at the long table to get into right away. After that, we gather and circle up to go through our activity areas and get right to working with you in the studio!

OUR TEACHERS We will have one lead teacher and a team of assistant teachers (we call ourselves “art assistants”!). We always have 2 – 3 teachers per workshop so we can support lots of art stations with fun choices. We focus on supporting the individual child with respect and care, and allow children to find joy, flow and confidence with expressive art success and engaging choices! This April camp will be led by Christina B with teacher Fairen (finishing Masters of Teaching up this spring!) plus we have incredible amazing interns this term from Maine College of Art!

We look forward to making art with you in the studio! Reach out with any questions, and if you can’t get into your first choice please sign up on our contact form for our waiting list!
Warmly, Christina + Studio team
