SMOOSH : Saturdays At the park! A fun family workshop option, that happens outside!

We are back with this family favorite for young children and their grown-up! During this once-a-month offering, we will meet at Harbor View Park for clay, painting, and play! This SMOOSH series will also include a little take-home art bag for each family. Price includes materials and teacher support. In the park, each parent will be with their children and we provide the set-up, teachers’ support, and materials! We also allow families to come into the studio, to look at books and toys, but SMOOSH this fall will be focused outside for the health of all families. Prices are for 2 grown-ups with child; for each additional child, choose the add-on method.
Saturday, October 10.30 (mixed ages) 9:30 – 11 am
Saturday, November 11.20 (mixed ages) 9:30 – 11 am

WHO ages 2 on up! This is a fun outside option workshop where we teachers set up a work area for you,- while you work with your children! This will be a fun time and teachers will support you as you create.
TEACHING TEAM Lead teachers include Christina Bechstein, Hannah Bevens, Sally Caruso with other Visiting Teaching Artists. Our creative team includes Art teachers and classroom teachers skilled in many pedagogies and with years of teaching experience in private and public schools and also college level. We see it as an honor to support the individual voice and creativity of your children!
WHERE We meet at Harbor View Park in the west end, just across the street from the studio!  – Love Lab Studio @ 26 Brackett Street, Portland Maine. We can also go into the Art studio as needed
PLEASE BRING Please bring a water bottle for your family, and warm cozy clothes to wear for the outside art studio in the park. Prior to starting class, each students family must sign and return our student info sheet packet (includes media form, release form, and other important info).
HEALTHY POLICY We feel safe outside, but will ask that families wear a mask unless very distanced on work carpets (we will set up work areas) The studio is following strict guidelines for Covid safety and health of all children and the community and will continue to follow the CDC updates. For current studio programming, given the age of our children, all children and adults will be masked in and outside of the studio (except when distanced for lunch and snack and can take a break distanced outside when doing art if applicable). If something happens Covid related and we can’t meet in person at the studio, we will take the studio virtual for your children and make art kits until we are able to meet in person again. If children are unable to attend due to illness, we will package into an art kit our projects for them to do at home. The studio has ceiling fans, high-quality HEPA filters, and windows to keep the air moving. We sanitize and clean all surfaces daily and as we go. We feel with care and community partnership we can all strive to keep our community healthy.
